YEAR ROUND ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

DANCE FITNESS CLASSES: (TBD)
Since the first class in January 2010, the Dance Fitness classes have raised over $2,600 for the building fund. We thank all those who have participated and hope you enjoyed the culture of the Armenian dance lessons and the fun of the Zumba Fitness classes. Although it has drawn a following of all ages, the classes have diminished in numbers as of late. Therefore, it is time for a break for a while. But, do not fear, they will return at some point in the future. We will certainly keep you informed. We thank Maria Derian for her dedication, support and talent in bringing these classes to our church community. Her love for dance and music, and her church, is boundless -- as is her energy. Thank you Maria!

ADULT BIBLE STUDY CLASSES: (every other Friday morning at 10:15am)
Adult Bible Study classes are held every other Friday morning at 10:15am in the Gdanian Auditorium. St. Peter Armenian Church is proud to offer Bible Study for over fifteen years. The Bible Study group enjoys it's bi-weekly fellowship and has a vision for the future. Our main goal is Christ-centered teaching that reveals God's love for mankind. Second, to learn and understand what God is looking for in each one of us. Third, to provide a comfortable setting for people to come and ask questions, share thoughts or just listen. The group is growing both in size as well as spiritual interest and understanding. The teaching is shared by Father Stepanos as well as Elsie Vozzy. If anyone is interested in developing a deeper grasp of the Scriptures, as well as a deeper knowledge of the God of the Scriptures, this is the setting for you.

JUNIOR CHOIR REHEARSALS: (following services on November 6 & December 4)
All youth ages 5-17 are invited and encouraged to attend rehearsals for the St. Peter Church Junior Choir. Each session will practice one song of the Badarak and will last no longer than 30 minutes. Rehearsals will be held on the following Sundays immediately after services: November 6 and December 4.

FAMILY WORSHIP DAY: (1st Sunday of every month)
The first Sunday of every month is celebrated as Family Worship Day at St. Peter Armenian Church. On those days, students from our Sunday School classes will participate in Badarak by . . . Serving at the Altar . . . Singing in the choir . . . Reciting the Nicene Creed . . . Offering the Epistle reading . . . Giving the Kiss of Peace . . . Passing the collection plate . . . Distributing the Mahs . . . Greeting families as they enter the church . . . All while enjoying our "Family Worship." Please plan to join us at "The Family Church on the Hill" for the next Family Worship Day. Every Sunday, Badarak will begin at 10:00am sharp and conclude by 11:45am.

SPORTING EVENTS: (year round)
Der Stepanos is interested in attending the sporting events of our youth who play in organized sports. Please send him a copy of your sport schedule via the church office and he will guarantee a visit to one of the scheduled games.

ACYOA BOTTLE DRIVE: (year round)
The ACYOA Juniors is asking parishioners and friends to consider bringing their deposit bottles and cans to church. A receptacle will be made available for this purpose. Proceeds from the returns will go to benefit the ACYOA organization.

CHURCH CHOIR REHEARSALS (twice monthly on Saturday mornings at 9:00am)
Rehearsals have resumed for the St. Peter Church Choir. What better way to glorify God than to praise Him through the glorious music of our Holy Badarak? If you are a member of the choir or are interested in learning more about the choir, please plan to attend the rehearsals which will be held on Saturday mornings at 9:00am on the following dates: October 15, November 5 & 12 and December 3 & 17. Come and join us as we lift our voices in the timeless music of our Holy Badarak.

ST. GREGORY OF NAREK PRAYER GROUP (Third Wednesday of each month from 7:00pm to 8:00pm)
The prayer group meets once a month to read the prayers of the Armenian Mystic, St. Gregory of Narek. We read from his book "Lamentations", also known as "Narek" or "Speaking with god from the Depths of the Heart". We provide copies of the book to use during our sessions and they are also available for sale through our bookstore. The experiences of the Narek prayer group have been overwhelmingly positive, as many of the participants empathize and are simply inspired by the St. Gregory of Narek's prayers and words. Please join us for an enlightening and prayerful experience.

BIBLE & BADARAK STUDY (Last Wednesday of every month at 7pm at various locations)
Classes will be held in parishioners’ homes and will offer a deeper understanding of the prayers and hymns of our Badarak, its link to the Bible, and its meaning for our lives today. Together, we will systematically study the Badarak from beginning to end. For more information or if interested in hosting a future class in your home, please contact Fr. Stepanos through the St. Peter Church office.

SUNDAY FELLOWSHIP HOURS: (year round)
The Parish Council is asking that church auxiliaries/schools and individuals/families select dates to host a coffee hour to maintain a regular schedule of coffee hours. Church auxiliaries/schools could use this opportunity to invite the community to celebrate a specific event/occasion, to bring awareness to the work it has to offer, or to celebrate a milestone or anniversary, as well as to use these opportunities to make special presentations and/or to announce upcoming activities of interest. Individuals/families who are holding requiem or celebrating a special event (birthday, anniversary, promotion, retirement, etc.) can share the occasion with their church family by donating refreshments for the fellowship hour. This can also be done in thanksgiving or just in "fellowship." Please contact the church office to make the necessary arrangements and to reserve the date of your choice.
